ด้านหน้ามีพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชและสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนารถเป็นประธาน ริมขอบเหรียญมีพระราชลัญจกรปรมาภิไธยของทั้งสองพระองค์
ด้านหลังเป็นรูปพระสยามเทวาธิราช ซึ่งเคารพกันว่าปกป้องประเทศไทยให้พ้นจากอันตรายทั้งปวง สร้างในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๔ รอบขอบเหรียญจารึกว่า “๕0 ปี ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย ๑0 ธันวาคม ๒๕๓๕ ประเทศไทย ๒ บาท”
