ด้านหน้ามีพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์ พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวและพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชเป็นประธาน ริมขอบเหรียญจารึกว่า “รัชกาลที่ ๕ รัชกาลที่ ๙”
ด้านหลังเป็นรูปนกวายุภักษ์เป็นสัตว์อยู่ในป่าหิมพาน บินสูงเหนือเมฆ กินลมเป็นอาหาร มีเสียงไพเราะมากซึ่งเป็นตราสัญลักษณ์ของกระทรวงการคลังโดยใช้มาตั้งแต่สมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ รอบริมขอบเหรียญจารึกว่า “๑๒0 ปี กระทรวงการคลัง พ.ศ. ๒๔๑๘-๒๕๓๘ ๒0 บาท ประเทศไทย”
