ด้านหน้ามีพระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์พ่อขุนรามคำแหงมหาราช ประทับนั่งห้อยพระบาทบนพระแท่นมนังศิลาบาตร ด้านซ้ายมีพานวางพระขรรค์ไว้ข้าง ๆ พระหัตถ์ขวาทรงถือสมุดไทยอันหมายถึงสรรพวิทยาการต่าง ๆที่พระองค์ทรงรอบรู้ พระหัตถ์ซ้ายทรงแสดงลักษณะทรงสั่งสอนพสกนิกรหรือขณะออกว่าราชการ ริมขอบเหรียญจารึกว่า“พ่อขุนรามคำแหงมหาราชพระผู้กำเหนิดลายสือไทย”
ด้านหลังตรงกลางเป็นคำจารึก ลายสือไทย สมัยสุโขทัย ใต้ลงมามีคำว่า “๑0 บาท” รอบขอบเหรียญจารึกว่า “ที่ระลึก ๗00 ปี ลายสือไทย ประเทศไทย พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๖”
ขนาดเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 32.00 มิลลิเมตร ชนิด นิกเกิล จำนวนที่ผลิต 500,000 เหรียญ
Commemorative 700th year Thai script 10 Baht coins year 1983.
On the head side of the coin is images of the royal statue of King Ram Khamhaeng the Great seated on the Manangkhasila Asana Thone and on rim of the coin are words “King Ramkhamhaeng the Great as the invention of Thai script”.
On the tail side of the coin at the center there are Thai script in Sukhothai era beneath its there are words “In commemorative 700th years of the invention of the Thai script Thailand year 1983” in Thai language. Diameter is 32.00 millimeter, type nickel. Launching in year 1983. Number of mintages are 500,000 coins.
